Introducing Parkin Bloom & Rules
11/04/2009Hey people, I may be insane or something, because I’m going to attempt an Insane I’m Surrounded by Idiots Challenge (Insane ISBI). Oh…and I’m going to try to make it last for 27 generations – an Alphabet Legacy/Challenge of sorts. You may be saying there’s only 26 letters in the alphabet and I know this, but Gen 1 is our handsome founder and whoever he chooses to be his mate.
Let’s introduce you to him now, shall we?

- Parkin Bloom
I could apologize for the large picture but I’m really not sorry about it. This way you can see his dreamy light blue eyes, freckles, tatts and even his chest hair…yep.
Parkin’s Traits:
- Insane
- Loves the Outdoors
- Natural Cook
- Family Oriented
- Friendly
The insane trait is absolutely necessary for all sims in the challenge with the exception of the mates who are married in. I’m hoping that the family oriented, friendly, and natural cook traits will all be conducive to the beginning of this challenge. How about some detailed rules, you ready?
Rules that I Found
- You may only control the torch holder -ONLY ONE ACTIVE SIM, everyone else is on free will at all times
- You may hand the torch down to the next generation when the chosen sims reaches the age of young adult or after
- If the torch holder dies it’s an automatic game over!
- You cannot hire any service sims – that includes babysitters
- Each child must have the insane trait!
- Minimum of 2 children per generation
- You may seed the neighborhood with sims that you create in CAS
- You may marry a sim that you created in CAS
- Same sex marriage/pregnancy is allowed
- You can adopt
- Every 3 generations, the torch holder must take fertility treatment
- You can change the outfits and appearance of non-playable sims (NPS)
Nessva’s Additional Rules
- You can choose the traits for children sims at each stage of growing up if given the opportunity – you totally deserve it if you did well enough to get the option! Just make sure to give them the insane trait at either birth or when then turn into a child.
- You must wait until an NPS reaches YA to choose a LTW
- You may manually drag things into or out of a NPS’s inventory, no clicking and choosing an option though!
- You may choose jobs for an NPS based on their LTW or autonomously acquired skills.
- You CANNOT have an NPS quit a job, they must be fired before switching career fields.
- You may move out spares once they reach YA but they may not take any teens/children/toddlers/babies with them if they’re the child of the torch holder.
- The torch holder may use the “go here with…” option.
- The torch holder may use the “call everyone home” option on his/her phone.
- You may lock/unlock wants for a NPS, but they have to fulfill it of their own free will.
- You may use aspiration points to buy rewards for a NPS.
Scoring
- -5 failing school
- -5 peeing self
- -5 passing out
- -15 social worker visit
- -25 accidental death
- +5 every birth
- +10 twin birth
- +20 triplet birth
- +40 fulfilled LTW
If I think of anything else to add while I’m playing then I’ll add it to the official rules page.
o.O LOL OMG! This is so awesome Nessva! HAHA, I have to try it I think!
… after exams though… LOL
lol, it’s pretty fun!
Good luck on your exams worsiedog!! =)
Thanks nessva!
Yes after I read through your block this morning, I am definately starting another legacy following this format! LOL, hmmm.. I think I give myself too much to do.
I’m trying to read it, but I’m having an issue. I click “newer entries” and it goes to a page with a toddler on the top, and I haven’t read about Parkin even getting a mate. and I click older entries from there, and I get to this page. It’s making me sad. Could you set it up somewhere so that I can move from one chapter to the next?
Oh wait. I think I found it. and I searched for 10 minutes before I posted this, and the second I post it, I find where I should be. I’m sorry. And, your founder is made quite well. good job.
I added a Chapters page for easier following and a recent posts thing to the column on the right. It was really confusing before! eep. Thanks for pointing it out
This challenge seems very fun and challenging. I will try it out some time! But first I will try finishing my legacy. And BTW Parkin is very handsome!
Hi Nessva, only this discovered this now. Shame on me! It’s lat now, but I want to get up-to-date on this story soon. Love the beginning!
Hi Moondaisy! Thanks so much for stopping by and reading
You crazy person! Keeping this awesome challenge all to yourself, shame on you!
Excellent Challenge!
Love this story! I’ll just “like” this chapter and pretend it counts for all the chapters, cause I’m too lazy to “like” them all
